Psychotherapy

Psyche means soul in Greek, therapy also means treatment. Psychotherapy means spiritual treatment. The first tool of spiritual treatment is to establish a relationship. It aims to treat the emotional conflicts experienced by a person by establishing relationships and talking, as well as the tensions, anxiety and fears arising from these conflicts.

There is no need for a person to be ill in order to receive psychotherapy support. There is such information in society. This information is not real. What is really happening, anyone who wants to improve their quality of life, wants to improve themselves, is emotionally challenged socially and professionally can receive psychotherapy support.

But what usually happens is that people resort to psychotherapy when they realize that their problems have gone out of the norm and see the bottom. When a person experiences problems that he cannot tolerate in his daily life and his functionality in social and professional life begins to deteriorate seriously, he applies for psychotherapy support.

In such a situation, we assume that the person comes open to change and transformation, but in reality such a situation does not happen. In reality, people come to therapy to feel good.  At the beginning, this is an understandable feeling, many difficult emotions such as anxiety and fear arise in an unknown process such as therapy. But as this desire continues, it begins to disrupt therapy. What makes therapy useful is to increase contact and tolerance with these feelings that come out during the process.

What is psychotherapy not?

  • Psychotherapy is not a place to be happy. A person constantly deals with internal issues in therapy, bad feelings that are pushed into the unconscious, suppressed, postponed begin to surface. As it rises to the surface, it is processed again. This period of time is exhausting in the short term and rewarding in the long run.< / li>
  • In a friend chat, you always try to stay on the good side. In psychotherapy, he comes into contact with every emotion that makes him feel good or bad. As he comes into contact with pain, he can clear away bad feelings from the past that seem to be hunched over his back today. This is the most painful part.< / li>
  • Psychotherapy is not a place where the therapist pities the person who comes. Especially people who have a problem with self-pity and self-pity, they want the therapist to have pity on him in order to repeat this cycle, and they force him unconsciously.< / li>
  • In psychotherapy, the therapist has no responsibility to save the person. In this process, which starts together, the therapist only opens the door to the person. It is up to the person whether to enter through that door or not.< / li>
  • Psychotherapy is not a place where the therapist tries to change a person’s outlook on life and judges, blames.< / li>
  • Psychotherapy is not a place where a therapist gives advice, teaches life lessons, makes decisions about your life, constantly talks and gives advice. Listening is half of therapy, Freud said. It is more important for the unconscious to speak during the sessions.< / li>
  • Psychotherapy is not a place for chatting, worrying or socializing. It is a scientific process in which internal issues are dealt with in a professional framework.< / li>

How does the psychotherapy process progress?

In the process of psychotherapy, a person comes into contact with many emotions. They grieve, suffer, cry, fall apart, then gather, hope, change and transform. It is in the nature of the process to turn your face to emotions. There is no such thing as being happy throughout life. There are painful experiences in life, just as there are experiences that give pleasure, there will be. Psychotherapy makes it possible for a person to continue along with the pain, not in spite of the pain. It improves the ability to regulate emotions, increases tolerance to bad feelings, reduces the impact of today’s reflections of childhood experiences. It contributes to building healthier relationships.
